The Columbia Municipal Court will resume normal operations on Monday, November 30, 2020 and Court Sessions will resume that day.
A staff member has tested positive for COVID-19 at the City of Columbia Municipal Court. The Municipal Court will be closed this week as previously scheduled and will remain closed until further notice.
The Columbia Municipal Court will be closed November 26th and 27th in observance of Thanksgiving. There will be no Court Sessions on the week of Thanksgiving (November 23-27).
The Columbia Municipal Court reopened on September 14, 2020 to limited operations. Only Criminal, Traffic, Quality of Life, and Domestic Violence courts will operate after our reopen date. Jury Trials and Roster Meetings will not resume until early 2021. Preliminary Hearings will resume on November 16, 2020 and will be conducted virtually (via invitation) through Web-Ex. If you have missed your court date due to the court closure, your case will be rescheduled and notification will be sent to you by mail of your new court date. Fine payments can be made online from this web page under the Court Payments tab, in person at our drive thru window or at our payment counter after the reopen date listed above. No person will be allowed in the courthouse without a face covering.

This Court is part of the integrated judicial system for the State of South Carolina and serves as the judicial system for the City of Columbia. This Court handles traffic violations, criminal (misdemeanor) violations, city ordinance violations and environmental code violations.

Hours of operation: Columbia Municipal Court is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
